Mitosis Simulation

December 2020

Click a cell, watch it split. I could poke at this for hours.

  • JavaScript
  • p5.js

An interactive p5.js sketch that visualizes cell mitosis. A colored cell drifts randomly around the canvas, and clicking a cell splits it into two smaller daughter cells — just like a real cell dividing.

This is an old college project, cleaned up just enough to run and display again. A colored cell wanders the canvas on its own, and every click on a cell splits it into two daughters at the parent's position, each 90% of the parent's radius.

Keep clicking and the colony gets denser and finer with every division. It's a tiny idea, but it was one of the first times I made something on a screen feel alive.
